Learning English is our goal every single day (no *free* days, breaks, or movie days ever).
Students are expected to focus on the task(s) at hand and not get off task.
All technology (cell phones, mp3 players, etc.) is to be put away for the entire class unless told otherwise. Violations will be handled according to school policy.

Students should respect Mr. Weaver, other teachers, and other classmates by raising their hand to speak, not talking while others are talking, and watching the manner in which they address others (tone of voice, rudeness, attitude, etc.). This class involves discussion, occasionally concerning sensitive issues. Everyone’s opinion is important and must be respected!
Students should respect the property of others including, but not limited to: school property, classroom supplies, and other students’ property. Destruction or theft of school or others’ property is not legal, accepted or tolerated.

Honestly, there is not much we can do or help you with if you do not do or attempt your work.
You MUST do your work to be successful.
This means completing all homework, participating and engaging during class, and studying outside of class.
Plagiarism is a major and illegal offense. Copying others’ work and claiming it as your own will be dealt with very seriously and consequences will follow the ACS policy.

Come to class with your daybook, paper, the text we are reading, and a writing utensil as well as any other needed supplies EVERY DAY.
Come to class with any and all assignments required
Pay attention to important dates and upcoming tests/quizzes.
Come ready to work and think.
Come with a positive attitude.
Do not complain or make excuses (they will not be listened to).
Come ready to help others if need be.
Come expecting to be challenged and stretched. This class is difficult. Expect to struggle.
Come ready to ASK QUESTIONS.
Come prepared to LEARN.
