English 2 focuses on World Literature. Our goal for the class is to expose ourselves to many different types of cultures through their written or oral records and to recognize some common qualities among these records that bind us all as humans. By doing this, the hope is that we will come to a greater awareness of ourselves as global citizens rather than simply inhabitants of a single city, state, or country.
The pace is elevated in an honors section. Students should expect frequent quizzes and nightly reading assignments. Additionally, as part of the Honors track curriculum, we will be completing college portfolios of major works of literature. Students will also be experimenting with different modes of writing and reviewing grammar skills.
